At first, my son only wanted to take drum lessons and had no interest in performing But working with his School of Rock instructor, he gained more confidence in his abilities and joined the School’s performance groups. This confidence extended beyond the School of Rock to include auditioning and making his school’s jazz band as a drum set player. His instructor has become a mentor as well, encouraging him to do well in school and to broaden his musical tastes to include a variety of genres.
